Express Entry and the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program
Recent news from the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP): candidates may need to re-create their Express Entry Profile.
In a recent update, the Ontario government writes:
“Ontario uses Express Entry (EE) to select potential nominees for permanent residence under two Ontario Express Entry Streams. It has come to our attention that technical issues may have resulted in candidates not receiving Notification of Interest (NOI) though they believe they meet the criteria for Ontario’s Express Entry streams. If you believe you fall into this category and have not received an NOI within one month of submitting your EE profile, we encourage you to create a new profile in the EE system. If you create a new EE profile, you must delete your old profile.”
As you know, one of the requirement for an Express Entry profile is a language proficiency score, and IELTS is one of the tests accepted as proof of English-language ability. The higher your English-language score the higher your points score will be. In addition, an English-language score from your spouse will also increase your points.
As such changes take place, our team is committed to ensuring availability for test takers with more than 17 locations available in Ontario with regular IELTS testing, with more being added regularly. IELTS testing is currently available in the following cities:
In addition to making testing more frequent, some IDP IELTS Test Centres are also providing free IELTS seminars to review the test format and provide tips on common mistakes to avoid. Find a Free IELTS Seminar near you, today so you can get the highest mark possible based on your English-language ability.
