Why Choose IELTS?
Fair To All Test Takers
IELTS treats all test takers with the utmost fairness and respect by actively avoiding cultural bias and accepting all standard varieties of native-speaker English, including North American, British, Australian and New Zealand English.
IELTS is the only English language test where the Speaking test is one-on-one with an examiner in a private room where the candidate will not be interrupted by other test takers.
No computers, no technical problems and no distractions.
Secure and Reliable Results
IELTS is recognised and trusted by individuals and organisations worldwide for its fairness, reliability and high-quality standards. Subject to the highest quality controls, security procedures and integrity management practices, IELTS ensures that delivery of the test is both consistent and secure through rigorous training and continual monitoring of test centres and examiners.
IELTS is available in two versions: Academic – for people applying for higher education or professional registration, and General Training for those migrating to Australia, Canada, New Zealand, and the UK, or applying for secondary education, training programmes and work experience in an English-speaking environment. Both versions provide a valid and accurate assessment of the four language skills: listening, reading, writing and speaking.
The organization that requests the score determines the version you need to take.
